Spring break camp Little Explorers

Little Explorers

Description: In Little Explorers, JUMP teams up with the Pacific Science Center to offer learners a unique opportunity to dive into scientific exploration, getting messy while learning about the world around them in new, exciting ways. While at the Pacific Science Center, campers will have VIP access to exciting demonstrations, science shows, and exhibits prior to opening.

Dates: Monday through Friday, July 10th-July 28th, from 9am-3:30pm (Three-week camp)

Target audience: This program camp is appropriate for children between the ages of 4 and 7. Children must be at least four years of age by July 1, 2017 to participate. We will consider children that are younger or older, on a case by case basis. Children of all abilities are encouraged to apply and are not required to be potty-trained.

Location: Camp activities are based out of the Experimental Education Unit, at University of Washington Seattle Campus and the Pacific Science Center. To maximize your child’s’ experience at both locations, we ask that parents drop off and pick up at certain of these sites on designated days. Please contact jumphc@uw.edu with any questions.

Summer Camp Ingenious Inventors

Ingenious Inventors

Description: Get ready to get creative and start building! In Ingenious Inventors, learners will tap into the world of engineering and learn about simple machines, build amazing structures, and design new inventions. Campers will learn about some of the big engineering projects happening in our own backyard through fields trips on the light rail, visits with local scientists, and by putting their brains to work solving problems and helping people in their community. Each week brings new adventures and new field trips, so whether you sign up for a full session or one week, you’re in for a treat!

Dates:

  • Session 1: Monday through Friday, July 10th-July 28th, from 9am-3:30pm (Three-week camp) Full! Email to get on the wait list!
  • Session 2: Monday through Friday, July 31st-August 11th, from 9am-3:30pm (Two-week camp) Full! Email to get on the wait list!
  • NEW: One week option! Each week runs Monday-Friday, from 9am-3:30pm. Select your preferred dates when you register!

  • Session 2: $1475. Cost includes a $350 camp fee and $1125 for two weeks of professional services.

Botanical Adventures

Summer camp Botanical Adventures

Description: Time to jump into the great outdoors! In Botanical Adventures, learners explore their own backyards, going on nature walks, digging for worms, taking a closer look at the inner workings of a seed, and starting their very own garden. We will take this exploration a step further by learning about different ways we use plants, from cooking projects to works of art, talking to experts about how plants can be used to help our community.

Dates: Monday through Friday, July 31st-August 11th, from 9am-12pm (Two-week camp)

Target audience: This camp is appropriate for preschoolers between the ages of 3 and 5. Children must be at least three years of age by July 1, 2017 to participate. We will consider children that are younger or older, on a case by case basis.. Children of all abilities are encouraged to apply and are not required to be potty-trained.
