Each camp of 16 kids will be staffed by at least four to five dedicated counselors. We have a minimum staff to camper ratio of one to four when campers are on site, and a minimum ratio of one to two when campers are on an offsite field trip, with additional staff support available as needed.

Camp Counselors Include:

A certified, master’s level early childhood special education teacher, an advanced graduate student, or a professional with equivalent experience.

Additional camp counselors, which may include graduate or undergraduate students interested in:

  • Pediatric medicine
  • Early childhood special education
  • Speech-language pathology
  • Occupational therapy
  • Other early childhood educators or professionals invested in improving inclusion in the early childhood learning setting

JUMP Program Director

Tara is a certified special education teacher and a doctoral candidate in Public Health at the University of Washington. She received her Master’s Degree in early childhood special education from the University of Washington. She comes to JUMP with well over a decade of teaching experience in the therapeutic and summer camp setting, and a passion for making learning fun and accessible for all kids.
